ABOUT US
Plagio is a Chilean cultural foundation that promotes creativity, participation, and access to culture. It began in 2000 as a creative magazine that featured poetry, short stories, and visual arts, serving as a bridge between disciplines and a platform for showcasing unpublished works. Over time, its scope expanded, and in 2001 it launched the short story contest Santiago en 100 Palabras (Santiago in 100 Words), a citizen writing initiative that quickly became a mass participation phenomenon, receiving over one million stories and expanding to various regions of Chile and cities around the world.
With the goal of continuing to connect people with culture, Fundación Plagio has developed a variety of projects such as Zoom Santiago, Nanometrajes, interdisciplinary exhibitions, and most recently, the Plagio Award for Artistic Creativity, which honors creators with outstanding careers. Across all its projects, Plagio promotes the belief that creativity is a shared heritage and works to create spaces that invite people to discover and exercise their creative potential.

PLAGIO
- The term plagiarism derives from Latin plagiarius: <<kidnapper>>, equivalent to a plagiarism: <<kidnapping>>, which contains the Latin word plague: <<trap>>, <<red>>, based on the Indo-European root plak: <<weave>>.
- KIDNAP, TRAP, WEAVE, CREATE A NET.
- The network of thousands of novels, poems, stories, photographs, films, paintings, sculptures,
that are part of an organic framework that allows us to reach something new, something original. - WHAT IS ORIGINAL AND UNIQUE IS NOURISHED BY OTHERS TO EXIST.
- CREATION IS ALSO A COLLECTIVE, COLLABORATIVE ACT.
- Plagio It is also creativity. It is an uncomfortable idea. We know. But isn’t that the job of the arts? To make people uncomfortable, to generate doubts, to think critically?
- DISCOMFORT IS NECESSARY TO BE ABLE TO ADVANCE, CHANGE, TRANSFORM.
- Any transformation is a difficult process. And art, creation, has the vocation to take us out of what is expected, to question the canon, to have a transformative energy.
- WE WANT TO MAKE YOU UNCOMFORTABLE. GENERATE DOUBTS. MOBILIZE.
- Because we can all be creative. We believe in enhancing the creativity of all people, so that, together, we weave the network that leads us to a CREATIVE TRANSFORMATION.
